Deck Builders Atlanta was founded by Marcus on a simple idea: homeowners across Metro Atlanta deserve a deck builder who's local, who listens, and who builds it right the first time. Too many people have a story about a contractor who quoted one number and invoiced another, disappeared mid-job, or skipped the permit and left the homeowner holding the risk at resale. That's exactly what we set out to not be.

"Someone local. Someone who listens. And someone who builds it right the first time" is how Marcus describes the whole approach — and it shapes every estimate we write and every crew we send out, whether the job is a straightforward pressure-treated deck or a full composite pool deck build.

Decks Are the Only Thing We Build

We specialize exclusively in outdoor deck construction and related structures — pressure-treated wood decks, composite decks (Trex, TimberTech AZEK, Fiberon), pool decks and patio surrounds, pergolas and covered decks, multi-level and wraparound decks, deck additions, and complete replacements. We don't do plumbing, roofing, or general remodeling, which means every crew member is focused on one trade and genuinely good at it.

Metro Atlanta's permit process isn't one-size-fits-all — the City of Atlanta's Office of Buildings, Cobb County, DeKalb County, and Fulton County all handle deck permits a little differently. We prepare the stamped structural drawings, file with the correct jurisdiction, and schedule every inspection, so that part of the process never lands on you.

• We won't skip the permit to save time. An unpermitted deck is a liability you inherit, and it can stall a home sale years down the line. We pull the permit every time it's required, full stop.
• We won't leave your yard a mess. Materials get staged carefully, scrap gets hauled off, and we walk the finished deck with you before calling the job done.

Licensed, Insured, and Accountable

Deck Builders Atlanta is fully licensed by the State of Georgia as a residential contractor and carries both general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. We provide certificates of insurance on request before any project starts, and every build meets or exceeds Georgia Residential Building Code. We pull all permits under our own contractor license — you're never personally on the hook for permitting compliance.
